Appearance: Opaque Scarlet red-black. Brick red rim.
Aroma: Initial impressions of milk chocolate, asian spices and white pepper, underpinned by smoky cedar vanillin.
As the wine opens up these characters are supplemented by mineral, black olive, plum sauce and mint.
Palate: Disarmingly gentle and structured. Generous helpings of dark, red berry fruit, with hints of liquorice, tar and more chocolate.
Very soft tannins on the mid-palate are balanced by the natural acidity, evident from a mild vintage, which carry the flavours through to a long, satisfying finish.

Deep garnet-black in color, the 2008 Hoffman Vineyard Shiraz has a seductive nose of prunes, dried mulberries, chocolate box and licorice with hints of sandalwood, incense, and cinnamon stick. The palate is bold and buxom, with a generously endowed full body and 17.5%- declared alcohol, with robust flavors to match and velvety tannins, finishing just a little warm.
